Stunning river location with beautiful views. Friendly and helpful staff.- Close proximity to city sights.
Limited lounge areas on the boat, not suitable for larger groups. Rental bikes were not of great quality, had some issues.

Our stay at Schiffsherberge Poppelmann was a unique and memorable experience. We loved the cozy and comfortable room, and the view of the river and city sights was simply stunning. The friendly and helpful staff made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast served at the hotel was exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious options. We also enjoyed renting bikes and exploring the bike path along the river, which added a fun and adventurous aspect to our trip. Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as the small lounge areas and the occasional green water and rubbish in the river, we found these to be minimal and didn't impact our overall enjoyment of the hotel. I would highly recommend Schiffsherberge Poppelmann for a budget-friendly and enjoyable stay.

The hotel offered a friendly and cozy atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to stay. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to make the visit memorable, even providing a personal car service to the train station. The breakfast, which cost 10 Euros, was delicious and well worth the money. the hotel was very clean, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The Wi-Fi only worked in the reception area, which meant having to leave the cabin to use mobile devices. there was a lot of noise from a neighboring beach bar at the weekends, which could be bothersome for some guests.

I had a fantastic stay at this unique hotel. The novelty of staying on a communist-era boat added to the charm of my experience. The cabin was clean and the shared areas were well-maintained. The friendly receptionist made me feel welcome right from the start. I was even able to bring my bike on board, which was very convenient. The free wifi was a pleasant surprise, and it worked well even in my cabin. The location of the hotel was great, just a short walk away from both the new town and the old town.
One minor drawback was that the cabin was smaller than expected and the floor was sloped. However, it didn't affect my overall comfort during my stay.

This place is mind-blowing! The location is super, right by the river and close to the trendy area. The recently refurbished ship is jaw-dropping, with clean and spacious rooms. But the staff is the real highlight! They generously provide all the tourist info you need. Our room had plenty of beds and sinks, perfect for our family. And our two-year-old loved the experience of sleeping on a boat. Plus, the surroundings are beautiful, with ducks and birds chirping. It's definitely worth the experience!

Close to Altstadt and some of the best mattresses I've ever slept on! the hallway noise didn't bother me during sleeping hours, maybe because I had a white noise machine for my baby. the breakfast spread was lovely, and having it available on site saved me time searching for a place open on Sunday. the staff were genuinely friendly. the location was perfect, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and close to both the old and new parts of the city. Staying on the boat was a unique and special experience. the room was clean and comfy, and they even provided ear pads, although there was no need for them. Checking in and out was easy, and the breakfast selection was wide-ranging. Thank you to the staff for making our trip memorable!
Nothing, everything was good.

We got great value for our money with a spacious room and a fantastic location along the river, close to both the Alt - and Neustadt. The staff at Schiffsherberge Poppelmann were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
The breakfast experience could have been improved with a wider variety of options.
